Whether you like flying a kite, or grouping together some friends for a cricket match, this is the park to be in. With additional play equipment suitable for all ages, you can anticipate hours of fun for the little ones in Hansen Park. Play equipment ranges from cubby houses for the younger children to spider web climbing for the older kids.

Gideon Park

A great park for parents with little explorers, Gideon Park has a fully fenced area allowing your kids to explore within safe boundaries. Featuring a range of slides, walking bridges, climbing spots, and swings all over, Gideon Park is quite large and even has its own full sized netball, basketball, and hockey courts. There’s also a bike path around the park, making it a great way for the kids to practice their riding skills. With free to use barbecues and plenty of shaded seating areas, feel free to cook up a feast and make a day in Gideon Park a full fledge outing.

Bowen Water Park

One of the best family fun parks that is equipped for hours of playtime, the Bowen Water Park is free for all and open all year round. From safe non-slip areas for babies and toddlers to play in to slides, a big water bucket, and plenty of water features and sections to keep the bigger kids busy, this is one place you won’t want to miss visiting this coming school holidays. There are many free barbecue tables and seated areas to enjoy an outdoor meal with your loved ones too. 

Bowen Front Beach Park

Offering fantastic views down from the water, this park features a fully covered area to protect the kids from the sun. It’s a great place to enjoy the views, have a barbecue, while letting the kids have fun, and is also wheelchair friendly with a wheelchair accessible swing. 

Bowen Marina Park

The Bowen Marina Park is the latest addition of parks in Bowen, incorporating the latest playground equipment guaranteeing lots of fun. 

The Summergarden Theatre

Dating back to 1948, the Summergarden Theatre is the place to be for all movie buffs. Offering modern technology integrated with a rustic charm, this cinema establishment isn’t just for movies, but also for those looking to snap some beautiful photos of buildings in Bowen. With twin screens that show the latest blockbusters, as well as some favourite classics, pop by the Summergarden Theatre for a magical movie time with the stars. 

Friday Night Outdoor Skating

Happening at Bowen PCYC, come along for an outdoor skating experience at night. Starting from 5.30pm all the way through 8.30pm, entry is $7 for PCYC members and $10 for non-members. Skates can be hired for just $3 and there’s also a full canteen that serves both hot and cold food and beverages. Fun, music, and games will run throughout the night, hosted by Bowen PCYC’s R.U.B.Y crew youth group.

Those under 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult guardian, and children above 12 must be collected by a responsible adult at the end of the event. This is a cash only event, so be sure to bring cash for entry, skate hires, food and drink.
